I'm ashamed to see that it has been exactly one month since my last update. Where, oh where, has summer gone? We are busily preparing the kids for a new school year. Mattie is anxious to wear her new Abercrombie wardrobe and carry her new Vera Bradley backpack and lunchbox...7th grade here she comes! Carter is excited to be the "big man on campus"...a 5th grader, his last elementary year. And Camden steps up to 1st grade. What a year it will be! Will I survive?

Sad day, but we tried to keep smiling. Allison's Dance Centre (Mattie's home-away-from-home for the last few years) has closed. We're trying to stay positive and look toward the future. Live-love-dance!

Carter and Camden cried when they heard a baby was on the way...and not tears of joy. However, the boys are now head over heels in love with their baby sister! They can't hold her enough, and she thinks her big brothers hung the moon!

Dear sweet baby girl,

My precious baby girl. You are nearing 7 months old..time is passing much, much too quickly. Each day you grow more beautiful. Every time I look at you I see something new and amazing. You are exploring your new world and learning new things every day.

You are developing the most amazing personality. You are incredibly happy and serene. You smile at everything and everybody. Strangers are taken by your beauty...in one man's words, "She is too beautiful for words."

You are the center of my world. Words cannot express the love I feel for you. When I look into your eyes, nothing else seems to matter. Your Daddy loves to see your big smile every morning. Your big sister can't get over how pretty you are...she doesn't realize it but you look just like her! Carter and Camden adore you as well. Your brothers actually argue about who gets to sit closest to you. You are cherished by us all!

Your Mimi and Granddad are crazy about you! They see you almost every day, and can't believe how perfect you are. Granddad refinished his old highchair just for you, and Mimi sewed a brand new pink cushion that fits it perfectly. They just love you to pieces!

I'm trying hard to find the perfect name for you. I feel so guilty about it sometimes that it makes me feel like crying, but your smile always shows me that you really don't mind. I just can't figure out which name is just the right one. Everyone wants to call you something, though, so I know I need to hurry and decide. I promise I'm getting close.

Double Birthday at the Gaylord Palms

A "Picture" Perfect Picnic

Yesterday was "recital picture day" at the studio. We arrived at the studio before 10am and didn't leave until after 5. It was a long day, but the kids were troopers. The baby had a small explosive accident in her cute outfit, so Mattie allowed her to borrow her Aeropostale tee. Too cute!

Meanwhile, the boys built a fort with tumbling mats and were perfect little gentlemen the entire day. Mattie posed beautifully, as usual.
