"Enough already! I'm picking my own name!"

"What's in a name? That by which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

~ William Shakespeare

A Perfect Nursery

It's everything I was dreaming of, complete with a perfect, beautiful baby girl. Who cares if she never sleeps in there?

Bar Mitzvah Fun!

We had the pleasure of attending the Adler's third and final Bar Mitzvah...a safari theme with live animals! Mattie couldn't contain herself when she laid eyes on the little monkey, and the elephants, lions, tigers, python, and the little leemur! The kids danced the night away (go camden!!!) and enjoyed cocktails for kids, complete with little umbrellas.

What's Her Name Found Her Thingamajigs

She's not quite 5 months old and look what she goes and grabs...her feet! (I know, I know...I better hurry and name her before she starts walking.)

A Bad Week for Poor Carter

I knew something was up when Carter's tummy hurt at the farm, then on and off the rest of the weekend. When the high fever hit, all it took was a quick peek in his throat and I knew it...Strep! So back to the doctor we (all) went. Carter suffered all week, poor kid, with a nasty Strep strain that brought along a friend, Scarlet Fever. (Hey, there's a pretty name! Hmm.....Scarlett.) Needless to say, Carter spent the entire week home with me, doctor's orders. The good news is that we had the opportunity to finish his book assignment, "The Thief Lord." I don't know which was better: the story, or spending extra time with my favorite 9-year-old. :)

Happy Birthday, My Sweet Camden!

I can't believe seven years have passed since I first saw Camden's sweet face. We had a family celebration on May 2nd, but we plan to have a giant 3-way birthday blowout in June.

A Visit to the Farm!

We knew it was time to visit a real farm when Carter asked what the four-legged animals eating grass behind the fence were...uh, those would be cows. Hence, a drive out east to see real farm animals. Here's what we saw:
  • goats
  • chickens
  • a big pig

  • horses

  • rabbits

The kids were thrilled to gather chicken eggs (two dozen) and feed the animals. Mattie spotted a newly born bunny, while Carter and Cam spotted a tree house with a zip-line.

Hey, wait...we didn't see any cows!
